KU Leuven wins European Law Moot Court

We are proud to announce that the KU Leuven team won the 2019 edition of the European moot court competition in Luxemburg!

The team composed of Charlotte Reyns and Alejandro Menéndez Fernàndez (applicants), Daniel Cortez Cazas (defendant) and Victoria Baert (legal counsel), was invited to the European final after winning the Regional Final held in Madrid in February.

During the all-European final, the students had the opportunity to plead in the magnificent grand chamber of the Court of Justice before Judges and Advocate Generals of that Court.

All team members showed talent and persistency, working hard with the support of their coaches Caterina Molinari and Baptist Vleeshowers (members of the Institute for European Law).

They produced excellent written submissions, pleaded brilliantly in all phases of the competition, and achieved this amazing result after surpassing the approximately 80 teams that participated in this year’s edition of the ELMC.

Many congratulations to Charlotte, Alejandro, Daniel and Victoria, as well as to their coaches Caterina and Baptist!
