Course Organiser

The Faculty of Law, KU Leuven organises the Master in Energy and Environmental Law (LL.M.)  as well as the Master of Laws programme. The Director of the Centre of Advanced Legal Studies, Prof. Dr. Geert Van Calster, is the Director of Studies of both programmes. An alumnus of the College of Europe, Bruges (promotion Stefan Zweig), Prof Dr. Van Calster is the Head of the Department of European and International Law at the Faculty of Law. He is further a senior fellow at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies – a KU Leuven Centre of Excellence.

A tenured chair of the Research Fund, K.U.Leuven, Prof. Dr. Van Calster is also a visiting professor at Monash University (Melbourne) and at the China-EU School of Law in Beijing, and a visiting lecturer at King's College, London. He was previously a visiting lecturer at Oxford University (Sept 2006 – Sept 2008) and a visiting professor at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, amongst others. Finally, Prof. Dr. Van Calster is on the board of the Academische Stichting Leuven, an academic charity.
