Welcome to the Leuven Summer School on Organised Crime
Come to Leuven and embark on a two-week intensive study of organised crime and its control in contemporary Europe!
With the support of European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) and its Standing Group on Organised Crime and the European Commission, the Leuven Institute of Criminology (LINC) organises a two-week Summer School on Organised Crime in Leuven, Belgium from June 28 to July 9, 2010.
Part of a series of three, the Leuven summer school is entitled “Understanding and Fighting Organised Crime in the New Europe”. During a two-week period, you will have a unique chance to enrich your knowledge, discuss and critically reflect about the challenges of organised crime and its control in contemporary Europe. You will be part of a selected group of researchers with different academic backgrounds and practitioners. As with the first Summer School in Catania, in fact, the Leuven Summer School is intended to enhance interaction between practice and academic research.
An international team of renowned scholars and high-ranking practitioners will give cutting-edge lectures on organised crime patterns and control policies across Europe and beyond.
Exploiting Leuven’s locational advantage, the Summer School participants will also visit the European Parliament and other EU institutions in Brussels, closely interacting with high-ranking EU policy-makers and practitioners.
A rich social programme and Leuven’s wonderful collection of historic buildings and lively bar scene will make your two-week stay unforgettable.
