The Fourth Annual Leuven Pre Moot

The Fourth Annual

LEUVEN PRE-MOOT

for the Willem C VIS International Commercial Arbitration Moot

WHAT?    A practice competition for the Willem C VIS International Commercial Arbitration Moot.  Last year ten teams took part coming from Australia, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.  The competition consists of two parts.  On day one, every team pleads twice: once as Claimant and once as Respondent.  Common Law and Civil Law teams are paired.  At the end of the day, the teams are ranked according to the sum of all points the tribunals gave.  This ranking determines the shedule for day two. On day two, knock-out rounds lead up to the Finals.

WHERE?    At the 'Collegium Falconis', the Law Faculty of Leuven in Belgium.  Leuven is only 15 minutes away from Brussels, the capital of Europe.  From Brussels National Airport there are several flights a day to Vienna, costing you less than two hours.

WHEN?    Right before the actual Moot in Vienna, namely on Monday and Tuesday.  For the 16th Moot, the Leuven Pre-Moot will be on March 30 and 31 2009.

PARTICIPATE?    Registration is now closed.
