the July CRPC Plenary Session
At
its July plenary session the Commission for Real Property Claims
of Displaced Persons and Refugees (CRPC) adopted 6, 363 decisions
bringing the total number of decisions confirming pre war property
rights of refugees and displaced persons to 229,636. CRPC has accepted
238,806 claim applications, relating to 315,250 properties throughout
Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is at a critical juncture. There is the prospect
of stronger State Institutions and closer relations between the
two Entities. There is equally the prospect of greater respect of
human rights, democracy and greater social and physical security
of all inhabitants. Still much needs to be done in the area of the
rule of law.
Property law implementation is at the very heart of the rule of
law. The continued effort on the part of all concerned with return
of refugees and displaced persons throughout the region is a necessity
for Bosnia and Herzegovina to have a lasting peace that will lead
to economic prosperity.
