Research

General

The IEEL carries out research on the widest array of issues of environmental law and energy law. A distinction can be made between own initiative research and contract research.

Own initiative research

The own initiative research of the IEEL comprises environmental and energy law, in particular law and policy, case-law, international and EC law, as well as comparative law. The latter element bears particular significance within the Ius Commune Research School, and its Ius Commune Center for Environmental Law. Within these topics, each researcher at the Institute has his/her specific area of expertise, as will be evident from the individual CVs on these pages.

Contract research

The IEEL has been performing and still performs contract research for local, regional and federal authorities in Belgium, in the field of environmental law and energy law.
