Het Instituut voor Internationaal Recht, opgericht in 1999 en onder leiding van prof. dr. Jan Wouters, groepeert het onderzoek en het onderwijs rond internationaal recht en het recht van internationale instellingen aan de K.U.Leuven. Het onderzoek vertrekt vanuit de vaststelling van een steeds grotere interdependentie tussen, en een daarmee gepaard gaande erosie van de soevereine bevoegdheden van, natiestaten. Aangezien het om complexe processen gaat, wil het Instituut de werking van het internationaal recht en de juridische ontwikkelingen in het kader van internationale organisaties in een ruime context onderzoeken: de aandacht gaat mede uit naar de politieke, ethische, sociale en economische dimensie van de internationale normen en praktijk. |

Onderzoek en publicaties van het Instituut
Op onze onderzoekspagina komt u meer te weten over de verschillende onderzoeksprojecten en over de doctoraatsprojecten van de verschillende leden van het Instituut. Onder meer via onze (op dit ogenblik ongeveer 140) working papers en via de korte opinies van de medewerkers kan u ook online op de hoogte blijven van een groot deel van het actueel onderzoek van het instituut:
