Student pictureTestimonial: Katarzyna Syska

"I greatly enjoyed the Postgraduate Studies in ICT & Media Law at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and ICT because of a unique – interdisciplinary – perspective on European ICT and media law that this program offered. The classes were given by both academics and professionals, lawyers and non-lawyers – all of them specialists in their respective fields – thanks to which the issues discussed were presented thoroughly and from different points of view. Furthermore, the ICRI staff and other lecturers were always very friendly and helpful, which made attending the classes a pleasure.

To me, one of the greatest advantages of the program was an internship in an international law firm, where I had a chance to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the courses in practice.

The program also provided an excellent opportunity to meet other people who are keen on ICT and media law, both fellow students and lecturers, and to exchange experiences with them.

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Law & ICT (ICRI) is pleased to announce its new Postgraduate Studies in ICT, IP & Media Law programme at the Faculty of Law at K.U.Leuven. Situated in Belgium, in the heart of Western Europe, K.U.Leuven has been a centre of learning for almost six centuries. Its Faculty of Law was established in 1425 and is the biggest and oldest law faculty of the country. Yearly, more than 4000 students are welcomed. The faculty has over 450 professors and teaching staff, and offers specialised classrooms and the largest law library of the country. Its most important asset is research-based education, focused on a solid academic formation.

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Law & ICT has since 1990 built up extensive expertise in the field of ICT and media law research and education. The centre enjoys an outstanding reputation both at national and international level, and has established a worldwide network of experts and contacts in the private and public sector as well as the academic community. The proximity of the European institutions in Brussels provides our students with access to the official library of the European Union and other documentation centres in Brussels, as well as the opportunity to participate in interesting field trips (for instance to the European Parliament).

We look forward to welcoming you in Leuven!
