In this wonderful city, which has so much to offer, we are going to visit all the hotspots: Times Square, 5th Avenue, Broadway, Ground Zero and so much more. You will see it all! Off course we will also pay attention to the legal aspect of New York.

Legal Trip Den Haag

img On the 28th of March, we will visit the capital of international law, The Hague. We will attend a hearing at the International Criminal Court followed by a briefing. Afterwards, we go to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia where we get an introduction to the Court and attend a short hearing. At last, there will be a guided tour in the visitor center of the Peace Palace. Before leaving back to Leuven you can enjoy some free time to explore the city centre. We recommend to bring a lunch, as we only have time for free time from 16h onwards.

Why this is useful and more importantly how to resolve a dispute in an alternative way and still positive way, Dirk De Meulemeester will explain in this reading. He has a wide range of experience as an arbiter and counsel in national and international arbitration (cepina, ICC,..).

Berlin is known because of its high-developed cultural life, its monumental architecture, its pioneering role in fashion and music and last but not least its extensive nightlife. However, the city is also characterized by its less proud making history, of which its remnants spontaneously insists on silence in the middle of this currently dazzling, modern and open minded city. This plurality of factors makes Berlin an asbolute “must see”.

img From 30 April to 2 May, we'll take the Eurostar to London for a thrilling three-day programme. On Thursday, you will get an insight to London working life with a lunch at Deloitte, a visit to Cleary Gottlieb LLP and a walk through Canary Wharf (the financial district). Friday, there will be a legal walk with visits of the Inns of Court, Royal Courts of Justice, the City Hall and the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey). Friday night, some special activities will be suggested. Saturday will be a free day to follow your own preferences.
