ELSA Vienna Summer school on Dispute Resolution

We often see Vienna in terms of its grand past, but isn’t it time to check out its dynamic present?
ELSA Vienna proudly presents the ELSA Law School on Dispute Resolution, which will take place in the last week of August 2012.
The participants will get an overview of different dispute resolution techniques (litigation, arbitration, mediation, negotiation) and their characteristics. These knowledge and skills will be convened by leading experts in international dispute resolution, renowned throughout Europe.

ELSA International Transition BBQ

The famous evening got its name from the simple fact that during this month both the current and the newly elected International Board will be living in the ELSA House and this will be your chance to meet us all in one place. More over this is also the start for the ELSA House Training Week 2010, which in itself gathers 50 participants from all over Europe.
This is not only an evening where you will meet new and old ELSA friends but also the night of the Final of the World Cup and of course we have not forgotten about that, therefore we will be showing this Final in the House. So take the chance and to meet new people from all over Europe, feel the ELSA Spirit(s) and watch the Final of the World Cup!
To register simply send an email to ehtw2010@elsa.org and state your name and country and then you will pay 15 € in the door when you arrive. For these 15 € you will enjoy a delicious BBQ and the company of around 100 old and new ELSA members and their friends.
Deadline to sign up is 1st July 2010! Make sure you send your application in good time since the ELSA House has a limited capacity (not when it comes to ELSA Spirit though) and the Green Lady will be watching us!

This Summer ELSA Belgium will, like every year, organise the ELSA House training week in Brussels (from 12 to 19 July). This is a training week for ELSA members from all over Europe to learn more about the organisation itself, to get soft skill trainings, interesting lectures, visits to for example the European Parliament, etc. Not to mention the diverse social programme starting with the famous 'Transition BBQ' at the ELSA House. It is an ideal opportunity to get more involved in ELSA, to meet the international board, to get to know lots of new people from all over Europe and mainly just to have a great time. Opening Ceremony ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO law

ELSA invites you all to the official opening ceremony of the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law, Wednesday the 3rd of May at 19h (Zeger van Hee, Oude Valk).
From the 3rd till the 6th of May the European finale of the “ELSA Moot Court Competition on World Trade Organisation Law” takes place in Leuven. During this four days event law students from all over Europe and several WTO-experts meet each other.
During the openings ceremony special guest Prof. Dr. Frank Hoffmeister (Deputy Head of Cabinet to the Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht) will give a keynote speech on "Why WTO Law Matters: A European Perspective". The evening closes with a reception for all attendees.
On Thursday and Friday the teams compete in the Leuven Province building for a spot in the semi-finals. The competition simulates the procedure of the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO. On Saturday the semi-finals and the grand finale takes place in the Zeger van Hee (Oude Valk). Of course everyone is always welcome at the several pleading sessions.

International Moot Court Competition on WTO-law

International Council Meeting
